Description
From the famous kilns at Cheng te chen, , most exceptional and unique pair of barbed rim shallow bowls, crafted for the 15th century Emperor Hongzhi, whose scant role was from 1488-1505. Perfect condition with deep and correct Imperial colors and sharp modeling. Originally from the heir to Meyers the circa 1900 Council General to China and likely gifted to him. From the octogenarian's collection offered here at a a few percent of it's N.Y.C. auction amount, with expectations that some number will appreciate these with some reasonable bidding. Probably a sunflower design. 2.5in.H. x 9 in.D.
