Description
German. 1950s. Tin, plastic. The cars are marked "U.S.-Zone Germany". Post-war German manufacturers were banned from exporting goods. Americans occupying the territories permitted the sale and export of toys so long as they were marked "Made in U.S. Zone Germany". This marking was used from the mid to late 1940s with underside stock often continuing into the 1950s. Marked, on boxes and undersides of cars. 1.5" x 4" x 2.25". The Howie Meyer Legacy Collection.
Condition
Excellent condition overall. Four original boxes with some wear. One original key included. Some cars have minor oxidation and playwear. Friction tested and working. Cars are steerable using thumbwheel.
