A pair of vintage Italian art pottery electrical lamps produced 1952 by Florentine sculptor and designer Marcello Fantoni (1915-2011). Large amphora form art pottery bodies with textured exteriors having incised designs, and hand painted with figural groups featuring triune clusters of male figures, evoking the mosaics of ancient Roman and Byzantine artisans, rising to double light sockets with matching finials. Signed and dated with location to underside FANTONI 1952 FIREZE ITALY. Does not include shades. Provenance; a private collection.
