The wood engraving from Claire Leighton's Canadian Lumber Camp Series is numbered 94 from an edition of 100 prints. The artist has signed the work in pencil below the image lower right and titled the print lower left.
This image is one of six different compositions documenting the work of Canadian workers living and harvesting timber in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec where Claire Leighton camped alongside lumberjacks during the winter of 1930-31. She, like many artists during the Great Depression, sought to document and glorify the noble toil common workers.
Image measures 9 x 13, sheet is 10.5 x 15 with a framed size of 18.75 x 22.75 inches.
Provenance: Private Rossville, Kansas collection spanning two generations.

Good to very good condition, noting creases in the upper sheet corner edges, toning in the margins, otherwise very good, the full sheet, untrimmed, not laid down, no punctures or repair.
