Item Details
Description
The luxurious hand made carpet from Kurdistan regions of Northern Persia flavor of 18th century French rococo designs is inspired by a European textile with its Rococo style medallions and half medallions framing sprays of stylized rose bouquets 'gol farangi' motifs like these seen in 18th and 19th century French Savonnerie and Aubusson weavings. The luxurious field design is framed within an ivory border enclosing continuous palmettes linked by vines within secondary light blue guard stripes.
