Description
(lot of 4) Chinese whitish celadon jade toggles. Comprising a lotus pod, finger citron, boy carrying a lingzhi branch, and Mandarin duck, Qing dynasty, from 1.75" to 2.5" wide. Provenance: Ex-Collection of George Turner Marsh (1857-1932), proprietor of G.T Marsh and Co. San Francisco CA (after 1876), one of the first major Japanese and Asian Arts galleries to open in the United States; thence by family descent. Note: Mr. Marsh was also instrumental in the design of the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA.
