Two glossy photos of Grandma Moses. The one with Grandma Moses at work is pencil signed on reverse "Grandma Moses / Vermont"; the portrait of her standing by fireplace, with note on reverse NR "Homecoming Cover" GR - each 8" x 10" in very good condition. First published on the December 25, 1948 cover of The Saturday Evening Post, Norman Rockwell’s "Christmas Homecoming" includes cameos from many friends and family including Rockwell himself, wife Mary, sons Jarvis, Tom and Peter, as well as fellow artists Grandma Moses and Mead Schaeffer. Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
