Four hand painted miniature portraits including: Pendant of a lady with red veil housed in an 800 silver case with filigree border, 19th century - 1 1/4" x 1 1/2" - very good condition; pendant depicting a lady in prayer housed in an ornate metal frame, probably French, early 20th century - 2 1/2" diameter; brooch, painting on porcelain, depicting a lady with white veil housed in a metal frame with rope twist border, late 19th century - 2" x 2 1/2" - very good condition; and another portrait of an 18th century lady, but dirty and worn, and possibly a print on porcelain - fair condition. Sold with a very fine 20th century hand painted lady's jewelry showcase-box with drawer, lock, and mirror on reverse side of lid - measures 8 3/4" x 10 3/4" x 4 1/2" - very good condition. Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
