Grouping of souvenir and political articles including: A small cast iron oval double sided sign, nickel plated marked "THE SATURDAY EVENING POST" & "LADIES HOME JOURNAL" - use wear to plating on both sides, but overall good condition - 8 3/4"L x 2 1/4"H - used as a weight for street-side news stands that sold newspapers and magazines, circa 1930; wall mount paper receipt holder marked "Eastern Outfitting Co." - some staining to button, but overall good condition; a Johnson - Humphrey pinback; a pin-back button marked F. Missler, Bremen, with image of the same - Friedrich Missler (1858-1922) was the founder in 1881 of a German travel agency that specialized in passage for emigrants to the United States, headquarters in Bremen Germany - good condition, probably late 19th century - 1 5/8" diameter; a metal hand with pointing finger in original paint, marked "Who Pays Next" - some wear, overall good condition; pin-back of Gen. Douglas MacArthur - good condition; a semi-modern large pin-back from a Norman Rockwell painting titled "Young Girl's Dream" - Knowles China advertising; an Ashbury Park collar pin with ribbon; a Neuss Hesslein & Co. letter opener with attached 22 year (1951-1972) mechanical calendar; and a lithographed tin tip tray depicting an Art Nouveau lady holding roses - 4 1/8" diameter - good condition. Provenance: From the Thomas & Gail Rockwell collection, LaGrangeville NY. Tom is the son of the renowned American artist, Norman Rockwell and the author or many children's books. His late wife Gail, was an artist-illustrator and the daughter of Arthur E. Sudler and Janet Whitson Sudler, both early 20th century artists - she illustrated several of her husband's children's books.
