Indian Kutch Wedding Shawl, Gujarat, 19th C. Gold-brown silk satin worked with yellow, brown, and gold chain stitch embroidery and tiny mirror work. The field is filled with small, seven-petal flowers and dominated by a large abstract floral center medallion. Originally a shawl, it has been padded and backed with yellow silk, which also frames it. Size: 5'2'' x 6'8'' (157 x 203 cm). Provenance: Ex Yosi Barzilai collection.
