Description
The famed poet, writer, gardener, and Virginia Woolf lover writes a letter to a publisher in 1950 about an article regarding her and makes a few corrections about her husband Sir Harold Nicolson and his royal honour titles and her being titled as Companion of Honour. Dated November 18th 1950 on her castle letterhead with the following " Dear Mr. ****hill, It is a charming article and beautifully accurate. I have made one or two corrections, and have also filled in about the gardens being open to the public. If we can see your way to including this, I shall be grateful. My husband is no longer an R,P. so I have taken that out. If you want to put C. R. G. after his name, I ought also to put C.H. after mine! ***** Sincerely, V. Sackville West" The letterhead is water marked Devon Valley Parchment when held up to light. A great A.S.L. informing the publisher that her gardens are open to the public and she wants her husbands title changed and hers added in the printing. Measures 8' x 5" with some foxing spots.
