Daumier, Honore (France 1808-1879) Lithograph on woven paper, 'Les beaux jours de la vie, un triomphe d'avocats'. Acquired from the estate of George Longstreet, a renown collector of fine original illustrations and prints, and whose collection has appeared in dozens of museums and exhibits over the last four decades. In 1976, Armand Hammer acquired 5000 Daumier objects that George Longstreet began to amass in Paris more than 50 years ago. The Daumier collection is now part of the permanent collection in the Armand Hammer Wing of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
