Description
From the estate of Eric Carlson, university professor and professional art dealer of 19th century French and American prints & drawings.
'Les Halles' is a large commercial building in Ypres, Belgium. It was the main market/warehouse for this Flemish city's prosperous cloth industry in the Middle Ages.
Early 1900s postage-stamp illustration-- 10-5/8" x 8-1/8". Postmarks on cancelled stamps show dates. Mounted under white matte, in a glass & oak frame, 17.75" x 14.25". Stamps are blue colored with ink markings.
In excellent condition-- fine art illustration beautifully renders the historical building of Les Halles.
