Description
A Regency rosewood and brass-inlaid tea caddy, early 19th century, the cavetto moulded top over an egg-and-dart moulded border, with two gilt-metal ring handles, raised on cast shell feet, the velvet-lined interior complete with two hinged tea canisters and vacant sugar bowl opening, the lock stamped 'Patent', 36cm wide 20cm deep 19.8cm high Provenance: Previously in the collection of Geoffrey Jenkinson, Guernsey, Channel Islands. Condition Report: Losses to the veneer to the lid. Losses and some lifting of the brass inlay. Lacking glass sugar bowl, Velvet lining worn. No key present. General knocks and wear commensurate with age and use.
