Description

Vintage Marx "Ring-A-Ling Circus" wind-up tin lithographed toy, ca. 1925. Atop its round base it features a circus ringmaster, clown, monkey, lion and elephant The ringmaster spins around on his stand and raises his whip at the circus characters, prompting them to perform a special trick. The clown rotates on his bar, the monkey climbs a pole, and the lion and elephant rear up on their hind legs.
Height: 8 1/2 in x diameter: 7 1/2 in.

Condition

The toy runs when wound, though not always smoothly. Light wear throughout consistent with age and use including some fading to the colors and light wear to the metal components.
