Description
Count Dracula’s (Gary Oldman) Armor featured in Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 lavish horror adaption of Bram Stoker's Dracula. After his beloved wife Elisabeta (Winona Ryder) sends him off to battle, Dracula returns from battle in this armor to find Elisabeth (Winona Ryder) dead. He renounces God's church and accepts the powers of darkness. Designed by Eiko Ishioka, this lot features a red helmet, chest piece, and boots and adds to the film’s gothic and opulent style. The helmet is a replica. The armor is distinct as it resembles a “lobster tail” design throughout all of the components, which contributes to the overall aesthetic of the film, emphasizing Dracula's association with blood and the supernatural. The choice of red for the armor is symbolic, representing both the character's connection to vampirism and his status as a powerful and otherworldly figure. The suit components feature slight wear from production use but remain in overall great condition. This lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Studio Auctions.
