Description
A collection of 7 Mark Twain newspapers and periodicals. First being the Atlanta Journal, April 22 1910, celebration of his passing. Then the Detroit Free Press of same date. The Denison Daily News, January 30, 1876 having the "Story of Jim Wolf." Next is The Press dated October 3, 1876 with an article titled "Mark Twain in the Canvass" followed by The Wellsville Daily newspaper April 3, 1882 titled "Mark Twain and the Lady Passenger." Next is The New York Tribune December 17, 1868, with "Notes by Mark Twain" with an account of a California boat race. Next in the Cleveland Herald May 11, 1870 with a story about Twain going to apologize to Reverend T. Dewitt but changes his mind.
Condition
The first two announcing his death are toned, the others are typical of the newsprint of the time with toned edges. Some tears in the margins could be present with some having been disbound with stitching holes. Overall most are clean and Various sizes. The Press: h. 11.5", w. 15.75"
