Description

Almost from the time the airplane was invented, air racing briefly became a spectator sport. This contestant's button and ribbon are from the 1936 Denver Mile High Air Races. The show included both air races and an important national gas balloon race won by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber company's entry. Legendary aviator Amelia Earhart was on hand for the event, just one year before her tragic disappearance. Measures approximately 5" tall with the ribbon.REF#WPN5637
