Description

Vintage Handcrafted Swing Handle Lightship Basket, unsigned but in the style of master weaver Bill Sevrens, having a rosewood base with interior incised concentric circles and 1977 penny glued to center, 15 1/2" high, 14" diam.Sevrens started the tradition of placing a penny inside of his baskets to differentiate them from those made by other makers. He also frequently used exotic woods for the base that would strengthen with age.
