First edition. 8vo. 124, (1) pp. Presentation copy, signed by du Bois in ink on front free endpaper for his cousin Raoul Pène du Bois (“Raoul & Bill”), and with an original pencil illustration by him of the giant's thumb and fore-finger. Illustrated by du Bois. Publisher's quarter orange cloth over grey cloth-covered boards, decorated with grey thumbprint pattern, lettered in grey along spine; foxing along edges; in original unclipped illustrated dust-jacket, short separations along jacket folds; light foxing and soiling to panels and flaps.

A handsome first edition of William Pène du Bois's tale of a seven-story-tall boy, inscribed and with an original illustration by him for his cousin, the Hollywood and Broadway set designer Raoul Pène du Bois.
