Description
Native American, Southwestern United States, Zuni / Pueblo / Navajo, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A heishi shell and fetish stone necklace, and an acrylic hair comb with a silver and enamel decoration. The necklace is double stranded with pink-tan rhodonite stones carved into birds- the terminal ends are braided thread that can be knotted to the desired length. Fetish bead animals are believed to have inherent powers or qualities that may aid the owner. Size of necklace: 25" L (63.5 cm); comb: 1.75" L x 1.75" W (4.4 cm x 4.4 cm); silver quality: 88.28%
