Description
Cased pair of mid 19th C French large bore percussion salon pistols by LePage-Moutier with 9 1/2" octagonal barrel with fourteen groove rifling in .52 caliber and side flats with Liege proofs. Leafy scrollwork engraved on case hardened breeches, sighted tangs, locks and spur trigger guards with matte grey finish. Detented locks signed FNI. P. LePage Moutier. Engraved screwheads. Figured walnut half-stocks with fluted grips, the fore-ends intaglio-carved with scrollwork. Complete with original figured mahogany case, the lid with brass escutcheon. Fitted interior lined in faded burgundy velour. Accessories include copper and brass charger flask, bullet mold, cleaning and loading rods, mallet and combination screw driver/nipple wrench. Condition: Fine. Pistols with smooth, clean metal, the stocks with a few minor marks. Case lid with scattered light dents and scratches.
