2 (Two) carved whistlers attributed to Karl Griesbaum, Germany, including a mid 20th century 'Drunkard and Lamp Post" whistler, the carved figures with their left arms around the post for support, one with base hollowed to receive batteries to power the lamp, the other example with a solid base, the mechanism concealed in his body, whistling a tune and moving his head from side to side when activated
Condition
the first in very good condition in original paint, the batteries are dead and there does not appear to have much corrosion in the battery box, the carved character has a weak whistle, the other is nicely carved, has a more monochrome finish, it does whistle, but also has a weak sound, the carved light pole is only decorative, circa 1950
