Description
An Art Nouveau Carved Marble Bust: Miarka, After Emmanuel Villanis (1858-1914). Modeled as a young peasant girl wearing head scarf. The front of socle with raised title "MIARKA" and incised 'Villanis' to the reverse.
Dimensions: Height 20in; width 13 1/4in; depth 7in.
Provenance: Property from a Philadelphia Collection.
Condition
Scattered cracks, chips and fleabites throughout. There is a horizontal crack to the front of bust just below the neck. Wear, marks, surface dirt. Minor discoloration to the right shoulder of figure. Dust accumulation to crevices.
