Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A set of 5 mold-formed pottery oil lamps, each of a sizable form with a wide wick spout and a pierced tondo. Three of the lamps feature impressed decorations around the shoulders, while another bears laurel wreaths on the shoulder, and the last with a portrait of Jupiter and his wife Juno. Size of largest: 4.8" L x 3.5" W x 2.125" H (12.2 cm x 8.9 cm x 5.4 cm)
Provenance: private Bell Buckle, Tennessee, USA collection, by descent, acquired in Tunisia before 1969

Condition
One lamp with repair to wick spout, otherwise remaining 4 lamps are intact. Each lamp with light earthen deposits, softening to finer details, and minor abrasions and nicks. Nice preservation to overall forms.
