Featured in this lot is this Papago Tohono O'odham bear grass serving basket circa 1950's. The basket feature wonderfully and professionally crafted bear grass or Yucca construction that shows a spiral design to the inside of the serving basket. The Tohono O'odham or Papago are a Native American people of the Sonoran Desert, residing primarily in the U.S. state of Arizona and the northern Mexican state of Sonora. The federally recognized tribe is known in the United States as the Tohono O'odham Nation. The condition of this serving tray is is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this serving basket is 1 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 7 5/8. The collective weight of this basket is 6oz.
