in the Renaissance Revival style, the inkpot in the form of a seashell, the cover set with the torso of a cherub with butterfly wings, blowing a shell horn, on a pylon-form base lined with faux tortoiseshell and trimmed with gilt-bronze gadrooning and strapwork, the lower edge with ebonized wood trim.

Handsome lot in overall good, as-found condition. Lacking interior glass inkwell. A few minor nicks, and some separation of faux tortoiseshell to the edges with slightly visible glue.
