Description
The breakfront top with leather-lined hinged panels variously opening to a well fitted with four reading stands and backed by a Latin inscription and a well enclosing small drawers, the concave frieze above a convex-sided plinth, raised on paw feet.

Wear is consistent with age and use with scuffing to the leather tops and slight fading to the mahogany with expected nicks and wear throughout. Minor age splits, veneer replacements and chips to the gilded paw feet. Structurally sound. A fine example of early 19th century library desks.
