Description
South America, Bolivia, Spanish Colonial Period, ca. 19th century CE. An ecclesiastical accessory for a Santo figure, an elaborate crown shaped from 97.52% silver sheets that are hammered with repousse floral decorations. Atop the four-band crown is a globus cruciger finial, and spanning the interior of the headband is a perforated strap intended to accommodate a pin for stability. Size: 4" W x 5" H (10.2 cm x 12.7 cm); silver quality: 97.52%; weight: 169.5 grams

Slight bending to overall form, with softening to some repousse decorations, loosening to finial, and some cleanable tarnishing, otherwise intact and excellent. Great luster throughout.
