Description
Eugene Laurent (French, 1832-1898). An antique bronze statue. Titled, "Pecheuse" ("The Fisher"). A figural work featuring a young female figure with a basket slung over her arm. Artist impressed signature E. LAURENT to top of landscape form base. Foundry mark 95 to bottom verso of landscape form base. Presented on a tiered circular base. From the private collection of Louis Geys (Belgian, 1945-2022).
Dimensions: 25.5 X 9 X 9 in.
Condition: Good to fair overall condition having moderate age related surface wear and patina. The work may have originally included a fishing hook form held in the figure's right arm; now missing. Estate fresh to the market.
