Item Details

Description

This is a book titled A La Photo Views-New York Central, by Rand McNally and Company. The book is undated, with an embossed, textured red cover, and has 14 pictures of scenes along the line. The book was dated to the 1870s, as it featured two pictures of items that prove the date. One is of the Niagara Falls wooden railroad suspension bridge, was replaced in 1877. It also shows a picture of the spiral staircase at Horseshoe falls, which was replaced in 1887 by an elevator, but was first installed in 1832. The book contains 14 pictures on accordion style pages, connected to the front and back cover. Fine used condition, and likely a one-of-a-kind item, as we have never seen, or were able to find a hint of an existence of on online! A must-have for the NYCRR enthusiast!
