Ancient Roman silver ring with intaglio engraved with the image of griffin standing left and stepping of a shield. The scene is a symbolic representation of the supremacy of a Roman Legion over the barbarians; 10 grams, 24mm overall diameter. Fine condition- the bezel rim is damaged and no longer holding the intaglio.
