Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Sacrifice Red Porcelain Double Eared Vase. Potted in amphora shaped vase, thick and large, a drum abdomen, short cylindrical neck, a pair of decorative handles called ears, and raised on ring foot base. Warm and uniform red glaze applied to the whole surface, only the upper mouth rim and outer bottom is white glazed. Red is the most important variety of China?s porcelain. It was originated in the Qing Dynasty. The red color of the packet symbolizes good luck, corresponding with fire, good fortune and joy. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
