Item Details

Description

The case is in nice restored condition. It is missing a circular boss beneath the escutcheon which probably identified the ship or captain it belonged to. A shrinkage crack has developed near the front edge of the top which has been splined but separation between the two front brass mounts and the wood remains. The clock winds and the hour and minute hands advance smoothly but it will not run and we are not qualified to try any harder. The case measures 6 3/4 inches by 6 3/4 inches by 7 inches.
