Item Details

Description

Unsigned. The stretcher is inscribed "Portrait of Mrs. Parkyn" and an old ownership label is inscribed "Mrs. Hardcastle Lykens", a common 18th century surname in Philadelphia. The frame, while probably a Federal period replacement, is also more typical of American paintings. Stretchers 25 inches by 30 inches framed to 29 1/4 inches by 34 1/2 inches. There are a few very minor spots of touchup and a small tear center lower half. Touchup less than two percent.
