Description

Pablo Picasso, Spanish, 1881 to 1973, lithograph on paper, Don Quixote. Signed in pencil, lower right. Don Quixote is a sketch drawn by the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso in 1955 and depicting the literary hero Don Quixote and his squire Sancho Panza. The drawing was published in the August issues 18 to 24 of the weekly Les Lettres Francaises as part of the celebration of the 350th anniversary of the publication of the novel Don Quixote. The sketch was made on August 10, 1955, and is completely different in style from Picasso's other early paintings: Blue, Pink, and Cubism.
