William Pellicone New York, Pennsylvania (1915-2004) Nude Bathing in Creek, 1984 acrylic gloss on masonite Signed lower right. Titled, signed, and dated verso. Includes Gallery Lombardi, TX exhibition invitation postcard featuring Pellicone's "The Judges" with handwritten note signed by the artist. Biography from Triton Museum of Art: William Pellicone, a son of Italian immigrants from Calabria, was a self-taught beginner who received scholarships to Temple University, the Pennsylvania Academy of Art and Philadelphia's famed Barnes Foundation. He was a merchant marine during World War II and a four-year farmer in Pennsylvania for New York City, where he became known for his works done with paint and fire. The work drew attention from both "Life" and "Look" magazine. With time William's style changed to more fantastical subjects. 18"H x 23 3/4"W (sight), 23 1/4"H x 29"W (frame)
