Description

This is one of the finest vases I've ever offered in my 25+ years in cut glass. Cut in Bergen's early Columbia pattern, it is a sublime combination of form and pattern. Clear tusk cutting just engulf the piece - from the rim of the vase, where the tusks are doubled, to the curvy vesica framing tusks, to the SWIRLED TUSK COLLAR neck, to the PATTERN CUT BASE with doubled up clear tusks. WOW. This is one of the rare piece of cut glass that I consider to be a full work of art that will even capture non-collectors' attention and be appreciated by anyone who sees it. Absolutely phenomenal blank on this piece with wood-wheel polished cutting. This was a very difficult piece of make and I have never seen another - don't miss this opportunity. This exact piece is shown on page 55 of the Bergen catalog reprint.
