Western Europe, Italy, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A lovely pair of King Louis XV style wood commode end tables with brass knobbed drawers. The undersides have paper labels from the manufacturer that state they are handmade and painted (varnished?) in Italy and the workshop location: "STYLE FLORENCE / LUNGARNO GUICCIARDINI, 11 R." The Lungarno Guicciardini is a historic district in Florence with palaces and mansions built by Italian nobility along the Arno River. The elegance and exclusive nature of these manors are synonymous with luxury and wealth, which these two tables reflect! Drawers open but will stick and do not open easily. Chip and loss to wood under the drawer on one. Minor nicks and scuffs to legs, but in great condition overall. Original label is fully intact under one, and partially on the other.
