Thermometer. This antique pocket barometer and thermometer feature an intricately engraved silvered dial. The outer rotating altitude ring is marked with a scale in feet, ranging from 0 to 10,000, while the barometric scale is set in inches of mercury with a range from 23 to 31. A delicate blued steel pointer is positioned beneath a beveled glass, and a central curved glass mercury thermometer, The instrument includes around form bow and a calibration port on the verso. The entire piece is housed in its original leather over wood case, lined with green velvet and silk. It is secured with a snap closure on a button release.
