Extensive custom 230 piece service of Tiffany & Co. sterling silver 'Whittier' pattern (introduced 1907), flatware comprising, 18 dinner forks (7.75"), 25 salad or dessert forks (7"), 16 serving/tablespoons (8.5"), 17 place/oval soup spoons (7.25), 18 round bowl/cream soup spoons (5.375"), 14 teaspoons (5.75"), 20 demitasse spoons (4.75"), 12 spoons, possibly short iced tea or olive (6.25"), 15 hollow handled dinner knives with steel blades (10.375"), 28 hollow handled knives with stainless steel blades (9.375"), 17 hollow handled knives with stainless steel blades (7.625"), 2 hollow handled fruit knives with stainless steel serrated blades (7.25"), 8 flat handled fish or fruit knives (7.75"), 5 large serving forks (8.5"), 1 large cold meat serving fork (8.625"), 2 large serving forks (9.5"), 1 salad serving fork (10.25"), 1 salad serving spoon (10.25"), 4 large serving spoons (9.75"), 2 ladles (5.75"), 1 shell jelly server (6.5"), 1 sugar tong (4"), 1 pie and cake server with offset blade (10.875"), and 1 silverplate waffle server, all with stamped marks.
Note: This pattern in silverplate was used aboard Mr. Allison Vincent Armour's (American 1863-1941), research steamer yacht 'Utowana'. Upon the engagement of Mr. Armour's daughter, she requested the pattern be cast in sterling silver for a wedding present. Tiffany cast this service in solid silver and then destroyed the dies. The other half of this service remains in private hands in Italy.

Condition
Most dinner knives with pitting and three having extreme oxidation, all pieces monogrammed, the waffle server engraved 'Utowana', wear typical of domestic use, no apparent restorations.
