Color woodblock print on paper. Horizontal oban. Signed Hiroshige ga; publisher Sanoya Kihei (Kikakudo). Titled Ryogoku-bashi noryo (Enjoying the Evening Cool at Ryogoku Bridge), from the series Koto meisho (Famous Places in Edo).
Pleasure boats on the Sumida River near Ryogoku Bridge, one roofed barge (yanebune) decorated with lanterns reading, 'Utagawa', another on the far side of the bridge with lanterns reading, 'Kawa'ichi'.
SIZE of the sheet 24 x 36.5 cm
Condition: Wear, some losses along the edges, wormholes, slight browning of paper, mounting residue along the edges, otherwise presenting well. Mounted on a paper cartouche with tape within a frame.
Provenance: From a private collection in Florida, USA.
