Spanish Nobleman's Swept-Hilt Rapier Sword by ''FEDERCO PICININO'' with Rare Early 2-branch Back Guard & Delicate, Elegant, Slender Finely Fluted Iron Hilt Features, Typical of Early Examples. Almost the Entire Hilt is Profusely Gold & Silver Inlaid with Elaborate Floral Vines of Highest Grade Toledo Makers Workmanship. Strong Double-edged blade with Extensive Inscriptions inside two Fullers & Distinctive Picinino Markings to Both Sides of Ricasso. Fine Steel Braid & Twist Wire Grip to Compliment This Fabulous Early Weapon, definitely carried by a Noble Figure of Significant Military Status and Rank. ~~~ The Brownish spots you see over the Damascened decorations are the leftovers of the hardened Varnish, which the Whole Sword was covered in when it was found. Both Hilt & Blade ware later cleaned to reveal the beauty of this Remarkable Weapon, the small remains of the Varnish can be easily removed to the new owner's taste with further delicate cleaning.
