Kawase Hasui - Snow at Kiyomizu Hall, Ueno. Japanese woodblock print.
The first edition of this design was published in 1929. The current print was printed in the Reiwa period (2019 - present). It was printed using recarved woodblocks by the publisher during the lifetime of Kawase Hasui.
Size of the image (excluding margins) in centimeters 36.0 x 24.0 (14.2 x 9.5 inches).
The state of the print is good, without flaws.
This woodblock print was made with blocks that were recarved during Kawase Hasui’s lifetime. It is from a posthumous edition.Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) was a Japanese artist. One of the most prominent print designers of the shin-hanga movement, Kawase Hasui is possibly the most renowned Japanese landscape artist of the 20th century.
