Description
The ornate cast iron standard with central opening for dispensing matches and oval base with striker is support for a spinning brass roulette wheel with sixteen positions for the roulette 'ball' - an antique Bennington glazed pottery marble - to land in when the wheel is spun. The center of the wheel is decorated with the hand-colored image of a man holding a smoking pipe raising a glass in reverse on flawed old glass with elongated bubbles. The iron is cast with grape vines and the word DEPOSE.
