BIOGRAPHY:
Dick worked in the foundry at Ingersoll-Rand's Phillipsburg plant for 40 years until his retirement. He would paint scenes of the foundry with its "big masses of flame and color and smoke," and salesmen would buy the paintings to take with them on their travels. Some of Schisler's paintings hang in the local I-R plant, and he once said he had been told that at least 20 of his scenes made their way to Japan. Dick Schisler was an artist capturing many scenes in Warren County, N.J. Many of his paintings hang in public buildings in the county area.
