Four (4) acetate recordings (known as “acetates”) - two from Jimmy Buffet’s first album Down to Earth and two from his third single Captain America (side A). Also known in the recording industry as “references,” these recordings are work proofs that stem from the very beginnings of Jimmy’s recording career. The acetates are created to check the quality of recordings before actual records are pressed.

The owner of this unique collection is the very gentleman who, in 1970, was the record producer who gave Jimmy his start in the music business. He has owned this collection for more than half a century.
