Description
Carl Bohnen (American, 1871-1951). This lot consists of three framed, antique charcoal portraits on paper. Each are signed by Bohnen. The largest is in a frame with no glass. The mounted paper has toning, chips, and scuffs. It is signed "Carl Bohnen, Munich, 1914", lower right. The second piece is behind glass, with a big piece of the glass missing. Where the glass is missing, the paper is scuffed and toned, but the portrait itself is intact. The third piece is behind glass, and has an inscription "To my friend, Carl Bohnen / 1904". It is signed above, "Van Sloun" (for Frank Van Sloun (American, 1897-1938). All frames are scuffed and worn from age. The largest frame measures 30" x 24", and the smallest measures 23 1/2" x 20". In-house shipping is available. Please see our website regarding our in-house shipping procedures.
