A JAPANESE LACQUER BOX Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century Rectangular with a kabusebuta (overhanging lid) decorated in gold, silver, and black takamaki-e, hiramaki-e, togidashi maki-e, kirikane, and hirame with Mount Fuji and clouds above a grove of pine trees, the chiri-i edges of the lid decorated with stylized lightning patterns, the underside of the lid decorated with salt-making huts on the shore beneath a pine tree, against a nashiji ground. 9 1/8 x 8 1/2 x 1 7/8in (23.2 x 21.6 x 4.7cm) Lot to be sold without reserve.
