Group of eight 19th Century books, including: "The New Metropolis: Memorable Events of Three Centuries, 1600-1900" by E. Idell Zeisloft and illustrated with 1,000 engravings, published in New York, 1899; "The Illustrated London News" Periodical, July to December 1857; "Gleason's Pictorial" Periodical Volume IV, circa 1853; "Scientific American" Volume 8, published in New York, 1852; a Harper's Weekly Periodical circa 1864, possibly incomplete and missing cover; a book of Shakespeare character illustrations, possibly incomplete and missing cover; "The Passing Show" with drawings by A.B. Wenzell, published 1900, possibly incomplete and missing cover; and "The Growth of Industrial Art" by Benjamin Butterworth, published in 1888. Provenance: Phyllis Lucas Gallery, NYC. [Largest (Butterworth): 20" H x 16 3/4" W; Smallest (Zeisloft): 10 1/2" H x 14" W]. All in distressed condition with numerous losses. Some incomplete and missing covers.
